A Charismatic London Town House Transformation

Burlanes bespoke Hoyden kitchen in Crystal Palace, London
"Our Burlanes kitchen was designed and fitted in Winter 2017 and we are thrilled; we still can’t believe it is ours! Having previously visited a number of kitchen manufacturers, we just had a feeling as we arrived at their Sevenoaks design studio that Burlanes would be the company we would be buying from. Within 5 minutes of speaking to Lindsey - it was a certainty.

Burlanes always accommodated our perception of things throughout, from the design process right through to installation - they listened to us and acted in our best interests to ensure our kitchen was perfect for us. To us, this only confirmed that choosing Burlanes was the right decision, and we highly recommend the Burlanes team."

Mr Vickery - Crystal Palace, London

A stunning period property in the heart of London, the homeowners of this beautiful town house have created a stunning, boutique hotel vibe throughout, and Burlanes were commissioned to design and create a kitchen with charisma and rustic charm, and handmade furniture for elsewhere in the home.

Handpainted in Farrow & Ball 'Studio Green', the Burlanes Hoyden cabinetry is handmade to fit the dimensions of the room exactly, complemented perfectly with Silestone worktops in 'Iconic White'. The central island runs the full length of the kitchen, providing lots of preparation and cooking space, storage space within the cupboards and drawers, and also houses the integrated dishwasher and rubbish bins.

Opting for a mixture of simple round door knobs, classic pull handles and drawer cup handles in a 'Burnished Brass' finish, adds a real touch of rustic charm to the cabinetry, whilst the Rococo mirror tiled splashback by  Ca'Pietra brings in a hint of glamour; the perfect combination for such a charismatic home.

Housed within bespoke, handmade cabinetry, our
design team positioned the ovens at the perfect 'within reach' height, with storage cupboards for pots and pans both above and below the unit. We also created a tall cabinet to house the refrigerator and freezer.

When designing the side return extension, the home owners opted to create a fabulous inner courtyard between the kitchen and the living room. Not only is it a beautiful feature of the home, but it also allows natural light to flood the room. We also created a bespoke larder to the rear of the kitchen, with oak shelves, spice racks and vegetable drawers.

At Burlanes, we love designing and making larders, as each and every one we create is totally unique to the homeowner.

utility area does not have to be a separate room away from your kitchen; the layout of your kitchen should be designed to suit your needs and lifestyle perfectly. Our design team created a bespoke floor-to-ceiling cupboard to house both the washing machine and tumble dryer stacked, making the most of all available space.

With such a stunning, bright passageway between the garden and the kitchen, it made perfect sense to create a serene dining area. The homeowners wanted somewhere to wine, dine and socialise with friends, as well as somewhere to sit and enjoy a cup of tea on a summer morning, and a glass of red wine on a winters' evening. We designed and created detailed banquette seating, upholstered in leather, with a matching handmade oak table.

As well as the kitchen furniture, Burlanes were commissioned to design and create handmade furniture and interiors for elsewhere in the home. With original features including stained glass windows and decorative ceiling coving, the entrance hallway is simply stunning. The homeowners wanted to freshen up this area, without compromising on simplicity or style, so our design team created timeless wall panelling, a detailed radiator cover and bootroom style shelving and coat pegs to make the most of all available space.

Having recently undergone an entire renovation, the rest of the home was complete, but the homeowners felt there was a lack of storage in the
bedrooms upstairs, particularly the guest bedroom. Having being so pleased with their kitchen, the homeowners commissioned Burlanes to design and create handmade fitted wardrobes and furniture for the guest bedroom. This is the smallest room in the home, so ensuring as much storage space was created as possible was a must, and that all available space was maximised.

In keeping with the boutique-hotel style of the rest of the home, we created minimalistic, timeless panelled wardrobe doors, handpainted in the same colour as the walls; Farrow & Ball 'India Yellow'.

We provide a bespoke service from the first meeting to the final handover of a project. By listening to our clients' needs and working with them closely every step of the way; the result is a living space that works for lifestyle and budget.

All of the Burlanes team take enormous pride in their work, go above and beyond and show an incredible level of client care.
